The exhibition spaces usually assigned to contemporary art exihibitions are the XV-century Refectory and the Barbo Apartment. The historic rooms are the oldest part of the building erected in the late XV century on what was once Saint Mark's Diaconate.
Frescoes of the same period adorn the rooms of Hercule's Labours and the Parrot Room.
